Pittsburgh Pirates Interview

The interview with the Creative Department of the Pittsburgh Pirates gives an inside look at the people behind the infamous Ads, logos, t-shirts, and many other things that broadcast and promote the Pittsburgh Pirates. This interview is very new to me because I've never really done a proper interview or thought about the Creative Departments for many things, especially when art comes to a sports team. Something that stood out to me was in the first part of the interview with the question "What made you want to work in Creative Department." Hearing that they joined this field with a basic love for art resinates with me. I have always enjoyed art and creating but never thought of transferring it to online creativity.

Something else I found interesting is the qualifications for getting a job in this field. I do not have much of an idea of what online graphic and creative design entails. Seeing how competitive this field is was very crazy to me. When asked of the qualifications, motivation was mentioned as the most important quality. "You constantly have to push yourself to be the best designer possible. It’s important to keep up with the latest design trends and software." I liked this because I to believe that when it comes to any job motivation is the most important quality to have. To keep constantly pushing and improving your skill.

The last thing I thought was very interesting was how extensive the interview process is. Reading about how it began with a phone call and ended with an offer is pretty typical when trying to get a job, however 4 separate interviews is not very common. It was very crazy to me that they had to go through all that but it makes sense as they are hiring the people who display the face of a brand or in this case the sports team. I myself have only gone through one job interview out of the 5 jobs I've had and it was for a job I didn't even get...
